Reiki Ryoho "Universal Life Energy"

Reiki history is very inconsistent and its origins are unclear. Traditional history states that it was rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in the 1920's while he was reportedly researching healing methods of antiquity when he stumbled across Reiki in ancient Buddhist Sutras found in a Tibetan monastery that he had translated from Sanskrit records dating back 2500 years.

This "Universal Life Energy" is a type of energy healing in which an "attuned" practitioner "lays hands" on the subject. However, there are three degrees of Reiki. Reiki I practitioners do physical "close contact" healing. Reiki II practitioners are capable of  mental, emotional, and distance healings as well as physical. Reiki III or Masters can channel more energy, pass attunements, and can do spiritual healing.

Reiki has an intelligence all its own so the energy will go where it is needed. The least a person will get out of a Reiki treatment is that they will feel calm and relaxed. Reiki does not halt the dying process, but it will ease the transition for the terminally ill person.

The Reiki Principles

Just for doay I will give thanks for my many blessings.

Just for today I will not worry.

Just for today I will not be angry.

Just for today I will do my work honestly.

Just for today I will be kind to my neighbor

and every living thing.
